Watercolor travel sketch journal

I became interested in watercolor sketch journaling a while back. Happened upon the Urban Sketchers website and was very intrigued with this whole sketch where you are, what you see idea. Then I took a workshop with Caroline Brown at Ciel Gallery in Charlotte and I was hooked. My goal now is to paint things that make me remember places and times in my life. Haven't actually tried the paint where you are thing yet, mostly painting from photos snapped with my phone. I just need to be brave enough to paint "in plein aire" as they say. There are some risks with that I suppose...like someone may actually looking over my shoulder while I am painting....oh my! And of course there is my own inner critic to deal with...you know the one that always is a nay sayer? Yea, I REALLY hate that guy! ha ha
